So I have a question for those of you put there with the birth control method IUD that's what I have and I was wondering after I lose all my weight can it fall out? I heard that but I didn't know how true it was.

Ummm no. Your uterus is the same size regardless of weight.

Yeah, that's impossible...one has nothing to do with the other.  Also, with the way they are shaped it is probably not likely for them to fall out because they are shaped like T and the top of the T hits right where your uterus stops and cervix begins.  I'm sure it has fallen out of someone, somewhere but it's probably because it wasn't inserted correctly or something.

Ya I have heard of them falling out if they are not put in correctly that's why they tell you when you get it to check once a month to make sure its still in place.

I only have to get mine checked once a year during my yearly exam.  Once a month seems a little much unless you are having problems with it.

lol...funny how there's a horor story for everything, huh?
My gyno said that the one thing that could happen is going from a sedentary lifestyle to much more physical activity can cause some movement of the device...might shift a bit...so to check for the strings every month after my period.
I'm very happy I went with the IUD...I have no cramps and my period is super light for one day!!!
